About the event
As part of our ongoing legislative relations, the Oklahoma State Medical Association manages the Oklahoma State Capitol’s Doctor of the Day program. This volunteer program offers a great opportunity for our members to meet their state legislators and talk to them about issues that matter to the “House of Medicine”. Each Doctor of the Day is at the Capitol for the day to handle minor medical situations (think aspirin and Band-Aids). But more importantly, participants can serve as the face of OSMA and visit with elected officials about the impact their votes have on Oklahoman’s health.
The OSMA Rural Section, Tulsa and Oklahoma County Medical Societies as well as the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association (OOA) are responsible for a specific month during session. Dates fill up quickly. If you are interested in serving as Doctor of the Day, please contact your county society or Matt Robison ASAP at 405.212.2769 or robison@okmed.org.
OCMS Dates:
Feb 3-6
